Q: THE TONYA HARDIN-NANCY KERRIGAN SCANDAL. THE BEST OR WORST THING TO HAPPEN TO FIGURE SKATING?
I think it was the best thing. A lot of people tuned in that never would have watched figure skating in their entire lives. It was a bit of an obvious trashy tabloid kind of thing. But so many guys watched figure skating for the very first time. It happened out of an unfortunate inncident, but I think it was a really good thing for our sport.
Q:WHO WOULD YOU MOST LIKE TO SEE TAKE ON TANYA HARDING IN CELEBRITY BOXING?
(laughs) Uh, lets see. Hilary Clinton. She's one tough broad. I think she'd take her on easy. Easy.
Q:DO YOU EVER FEEL LIKE SLUGGING A JUDGE?
(Big laugh) Occasionally.Yup. I always remember my first national championships and this judge gave me a really low mark. I know him really well now. Every time I see him, I always tell him, "That mark was not justified." It's great that now I can tell him that.
Q: ELVIS STOJKO OR TOLLER CRANSTON?
Elvis Stojko. Passion, strength, and the ability to know what he wants, this is him, that's how its going to be. That's awesome. Pure honesty.
Q:RED WINGS OR LEAFS?
Whoa. I can't believe (your asking me) on tape and everything. Started out Red Wings and turned into Leafs. Now , I'm Leafs all the way. Totally. Even though Cujo left. I was upset about that.
Q: IF YOU COULD SKATE TO ANY MUSIC- WITHOUT HAVING TO WORRY ABOUT CHOREOGRAPHY- WHAT WOULD IT BE?
Hmmm. There's a great song and it's jazz and it's all Ella Fitzgerald just scatting. That's it. That's what I'd skate to. It'd be tiring.
Q: YOUR WEBSITE LISTS YOUR MOTTO AS: NO ONE CAN MAKE YOU FEEL INFERIOR WITHOUT YOUR CONSENT. WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THAT?
I think I choose that motto because as I was growing up- I've never really told a lot of people this- the first time I was to Mariposa (School of Skating) I used to get a group lesson because (coach) Doug (Leigh) is very busy in the summer. I used to get my lesson with these two blonde girls, Chernette and Megan. Blondes intimidated me as a little kid, I'm not sure why. And I just realized "Why do I feel that way? They're really affecting me because they have BLONDE hair." That quote kind of stayed with me throughout my life. You have to have a lot of self-confidence and you should be able to look past that and move on. It's all in your head.

Q: WHATS THE STRANGEST THING SOMEONE'S THROWN ON THE ICE?
The guys always get the stranger things than the girls. Some of the guys get bras. Really, really big bras.
Q: IF YOU WERE TO SKATE PAIRS, WHO WOULD YOU PICK AS YOUR PARTNER?
If it's from any time, I would pick (the late Sergei) Grinkov. He would have been amazing. He had the perfect partner (Ekaterina Gordeeva) but that's who I would have picked.

I love cooking. I love eating what I cook. I love sitting with a glass of wine and reading and hanging out with good friends. I think I make the best spaghetti sauce in the world. It gets rave reviews.
